Description
Cress was made popular in Europe by the Romans. It is a symbol of life and vitality. The custom of sowing cress at Easter, widespread in Poland, dates back to the reign of the Jagiellonians. Easter Cress is the richest in iodine and is extremely easily absorbed by the body. It also contains many vitamins: A, B2, E, PP, sulfur, iron, magnesium, chromium (rare in plants) and calcium. In addition, cress sprouts are rich in vitamin C, iron and mineral salts. It is worth mentioning that the Cress has as much vitamin C as lemon juice! Cress has a disinfecting and refreshing effect on the mouth and digestive system. However, do not consume too much at once, because it is diuretic. It is recommended for people with thyroid problems, diabetes, pregnant and lactating women, as well as cigarette smokers. Cress is also a great cosmetic - it improves the appearance of skin, nails and hair. Due to the high content of sulfur and other mineral ingredients, watercress has a stimulating and strengthening effect on the hair bulbs.
